ROADSTER MODELS — Lift module experiment record, draft 01 Purpose: compare the same propulsion module with open inlet, duct and body. Status: PLANNED TEST. Blank fields are not measurements or acceptance evidence. RUN ID / DATE / OPERATOR: Motor / rotor / ESC / firmware / settings / battery / guard identifiers: Photos and CAD revision: Instrument models, ranges, calibration date and uncertainty: Ambient temperature / pressure (if available): Ground reference and clearance measurement method: Fixture mass / tare / thrust-axis alignment: Stop limits approved for this hardware (current, voltage, temperature, vibration): BEFORE POWER [ ] Review rotor retention, fixture and guard; keep personnel outside rotor plane. [ ] Verify thrust sign and measurement range with known reference loads. [ ] Verify independent shutdown and low-energy initial control checks. [ ] Record installed module mass including inlet, duct, guard, ESC and wiring. [ ] Select test points and repeat count before collecting comparison data. [ ] Define permitted hardware temperature and electrical limits from real datasheets. CONFIGURATIONS (keep all other parts identical) A — open inlet reference, same outlet guard. B — inlet grille + curved duct, same module and outlet guard. C — installed body section, controlled ground clearance. Separate matched-RPM comparisons from matched-electrical-power comparisons. ONE RECORD PER TEST POINT / REPEAT Configuration / repeat / commanded throttle / elapsed time: Loaded voltage V / current A / electrical power W (= V x A): RPM / net vertical force N / uncertainty N: Motor, ESC and battery temperatures / measurement locations: Clearance mm / ambient conditions / vibration observation: Stable sampling interval and raw-log filename: Shutdown reason or anomalies (never discard without documenting): ANALYSIS Mean and spread across repeats, including failed/aborted runs: Installed thrust ratio = B or C net force / A net force at matched conditions. Compare net force per electrical watt and temperature rise versus elapsed time. Plot net force versus ground clearance. Check recirculation visually with a non-intrusive method; do not infer pressure or thermal behavior from animation. Publish actual results, raw logs, photos and uncertainty together. RELEASE REVIEW [ ] No mechanical damage, slipping, rotor contact or unresolved control polarity. [ ] Approved electrical and thermal limits maintained throughout each run. [ ] Results repeatable within declared instrument and test uncertainty. [ ] Duct and guard losses measured; installed mass entered into the vehicle budget. [ ] Review unresolved failures before a four-module rig is approved. Single-module testing does not validate total vehicle lift, control stability, near-ground interactions or 60-second free hover. Those require separate tests. Decision / reviewer / unresolved items / next experiment:
